Who we are

Maison Maxima Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13326630, VAT GB377360474), of 22 Aylmer Parade, Aylmer Road, London N2 0AT, United Kingdom, is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect

Identity and contact data. Name, email address, postal address for shipping and billing, telephone and mobile number.

Order and transaction data. Items purchased, sizes, order value, delivery and returns history. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by us.

Messaging data. Where you contact us or consent to hear from us by text message, WhatsApp or web chat: your mobile number, the content of messages sent to and from us, the date, time, wording and source of any consent you give, and delivery and engagement data such as whether a message was delivered or a link opened.

Technical and behavioural data. IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, products viewed, and interactions with our emails and messages, collected through cookies and similar technologies. See the Cookie Policy below.

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

  • Fulfilling your order, delivery, returns and warranty. Performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b).
  • Responding to enquiries you send us by email, text message, WhatsApp or web chat. Performance of a contract, or our legitimate interests in answering people who contact us, Article 6(1)(f).
  • Marketing by email, text message or WhatsApp. Your consent, Article 6(1)(a), and, for electronic direct marketing to UK and EU recipients, regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and equivalent national implementations of the ePrivacy Directive.
  • Site analytics and performance. Your consent where required, otherwise our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f).
  • Advertising and retargeting. Your consent, Article 6(1)(a).
  • Fraud prevention and site security. Our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f).
  • Keeping records of accounting, tax and marketing consent. Compliance with a legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c), and our legitimate interests in demonstrating compliance.

Marketing messages are always optional. Consent is never a condition of purchase. You can withdraw consent at any time: unsubscribe in any email, reply STOP to any text message, or write to hello@maisonmaxima.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, and does not stop us replying to enquiries you send us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with service providers who process it on our instructions:

  • Shopify Inc. E-commerce platform, hosting and order processing.
  • Klaviyo Inc. (United States) Email, text message, WhatsApp, web chat and customer service. Klaviyo works with downstream telecommunications carriers and aggregators to deliver messages.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Delivery of WhatsApp messages via the WhatsApp Business Platform, and advertising.
  • Google LLC. Website analytics.
  • Our payment provider, delivery carriers, and our accountants and professional advisers.

We may also disclose personal data where required by law, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the business.

The above excludes text message originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties, and is not sold, rented or disclosed for any third party’s own marketing purposes.

Cart reminders

Our website uses cookies to keep track of the items you place in your shopping basket, including when you leave without completing your order. We use this information to decide when to send you a reminder about the items you left behind.

Where you have given us your email address, these reminders may be sent by email. Where you have separately consented to receive messages on your mobile, they may also be sent by text message or WhatsApp. You can stop them at any time by unsubscribing in any email, replying STOP to any text message, or writing to hello@maisonmaxima.com.

Location data

We do not collect precise location data and we do not use GPS, device location services or location-based tracking. We infer an approximate country and region from your IP address in order to show you prices and delivery options for the correct market, to apply the right tax treatment, and to help detect fraudulent orders. We do not use this information to send you messages based on where you are, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising based on your location.

International transfers

EEA to United Kingdom. On 19 December 2025 the European Commission renewed its adequacy decisions for the United Kingdom. Personal data may therefore flow freely from the EEA to the UK. The renewed decisions run until 27 December 2031.

United Kingdom and EEA to the United States and elsewhere. Some of our providers, including Klaviyo, are established in the United States. Those transfers are made under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum, together with supplementary technical and organisational measures, or under an applicable adequacy decision or certification where one exists.

How long we keep it

  • Order and transaction records. Ten years, to meet UK tax and accounting requirements.
  • Marketing consent and preference records. For as long as consent is active, and for five years after it is withdrawn, to evidence compliance.
  • Message content, text message, WhatsApp and web chat. Three years from the last message in the conversation.
  • Analytics and advertising identifiers. As set out in the Cookie Policy.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right not to be subject to marketing.

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@maisonmaxima.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data you may complain to a supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk. In the EEA it is the supervisory authority of the country where you live or work, or where the issue arose.

Notice for residents of the United States

This section applies in addition to the above if you live in California, or in another US state with comparable privacy legislation.

Categories of personal information we collect. Identifiers, including name, postal address, email address, telephone number and IP address; commercial information, including purchase history; internet activity, including browsing and interaction with our site and messages; and approximate location inferred from IP address.

Purposes. As set out above.

Sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. We use advertising and analytics technologies from Meta and Google that may involve the sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, which may be treated as sharing or a sale under some state laws. We do not sell personal information for money.

Your rights. Depending on your state you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion, to request correction, to opt out of targeted advertising and of any sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To opt out, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our site footer, adjust your cookie preferences in the cookie banner, or write to hello@maisonmaxima.com. We honour Global Privacy Control signals where our platform supports them.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date below. Material changes will be notified to you where we hold your contact details.

Managing your preferences

Visitors in the UK and EEA are shown a consent banner offering granular control by category. You can change your choices at any time through the banner, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the site from working.
